Context: This is a research study conducted to determine the impact of induction and mentorship programs on the retention of new teachers. The research was conducted at a medium-sized, middle school in southwest Florida.
Conditions: The research was conducted using mixed methods to obtain qualitative and quantitative data to answer the research question. This data was collected through an online survey emailed to participants through the school email system and through individual interviews with participants. All research was approved by the Internal Review Board (IRB) before starting.
Scope: This project was developed to conduct research on the effectiveness of the new-hire mentorship and induction program at a medium-sized, middle school in southwest Florida. The research was provided to the school in order to evaluate the program and potentially implement changes to improve the program. There was no budget for this project.
